My Counselling Practice

  I have a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor at the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have been working as a counsellor for the past 8 years, and work with children, teens and adults. I believe life is a journey filled with many ups and downs, it takes courage to ask for help during the tough times. I am happy to join my clients in their journey and provide the unconditional support that they need.   My years of experience enables me to offer effective individualized care and support for all ages:  children, teens and adults.  My training has focused on Rogers' Humanistic Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Sandplay Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I have used trauma-informed practices to work with refugee families and single-parent families. I also use attachment theory's guiding principles to work with parents and their children.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Together we can create realistic goals and strategies to help you manage these powerful emotions and self-regulate during stressful times.

Trauma & PTSD

Are you re-experiencing intrusive thoughts, numbing, avoidance and hypervgilance?  These may be signs of trauma and PTSD.  I use principles of Attachment, Emotion-Focused therapy, and Cognitive-Behaviour therapy to help clients build self-awareness and create strategies to deal with the on-going triggers, thoughts and overwhelming emotions.

Relationships

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship.  I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which research has proven to be a powerful model for effective and lasting change in couple therapy.
